Due to unprecedented demand, our current EDP program is at full capacity until April 1st, 2025.
Community Futures continues to support all rural Albertans with entrepreneurial training and lending.

Our group of EDP Business Coaches (many of them entrepreneurs themselves) are available to all Alberta EDP clients and the Program covers the cost of their fees. Coaches are regionally located and work with your local Community Futures office to design the best program possible for you to launch or enhance your business!
We can assist you with creating your business plan, so that it works as a roadmap for you and your business. Again, the Program covers this cost.
We can direct you to available resources and business training in your community. EDP will cover the cost of your training, (to a maximum of $3,000.00).
Access to Repayable Loans for Viable Businesses
Navigating today’s world without computer skills can be very challenging! We know that not everyone has had the opportunity to develop these skills, so our friends at Neil Squire Society are offering Community Futures’ EDP clients a basic computer skills assessment and one-on-one device training.
They have many exciting programs available to share with our clients, including Working Together with Employers and Enhancing Employment (WTEE), Assistive Technology and Makers Making Change. Please click here for further details.
Mental wellness is important for everyone and it is sometimes a tricky balance to maintain. Being an entrepreneur creates its own set of stressors and mental health can be directly affected. There are many resources available to navigate back to mental wellness.
AHS – Help in Tough Times – Alberta Health Services has resources and services available to help you or someone you know. Remember, if you are struggling you are not alone. There are supports in place to help you.
Bridges Health – our friends at Bridges Health offer Workplace Wellness resources and many of our front-line staff have attended their online training sessions. Their services may be a fit for your business and your employees, or perhaps you’d like to join in for one of the training sessions that Community Futures will be offering. Canadian Mental Health Association – The CMHA has tools, resources, and training to help you learn about mental health and mental illness
Indigenous Health Program – AHS – Alberta Health Services offers support in all areas of mental wellness support and general health through their specialized Indigenous Health Program.
Since we are a program that is delivered in rural Canada only, we do have urban partners who offer similar programs. Please feel to contact them directly if you live in either Calgary or Edmonton.
