“Rixta understands the challenges that business owners face as they try to juggle the many aspects of running their business and then trying to add the important piece of social media to their busy schedules.” – www.mintwillow.com

Rixta Moritz has been running her business, Mint Willow, since 2017.

Rixta came to Community Futures Central Alberta with an idea for a business, but faced financial barriers, health issues, and a depressed economy in her region.

“It was a great experience,” Rixta said of the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities program.

“I received funding to get training that I otherwise could not afford. I started my business in the fall of 2017 and am still going strong.”

Rixta said that the training she received through the program also connected her with experts in her field.

With a struggling economy, Rixta said she lost some local customers. But as a home based business, she was able to reach new clients in other parts of Canada and the United States.

Her advice for any new entrepreneur hoping to start a business?

‘Make sure you have a good business plan and good support.”
